Emma Grundhauser of St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Paul is serving as a member of the General Convention Official Youth Presence during the upcoming General Convention of the Episcopal Church. Selected from a record breaking number of applicants, Emma takes seriously the role youth can play as both prophets and students in this legislative setting.
In this video Emma calls on youth across the church to claim the opportunity to have a voice and role in decisions being made – decisions that will effect them as much as any other Episcopalian.
This video was taken at a meeting of the General Convention Official Youth Presence (GCOYP) in April, 2012.

It is wonderful to see and hear the youth of our church speaking out and getting involved. And I am glad to a see a young woman being chosen.
Wow, Emma. As a senior (citizen, not high school!), I am thrilled to have the church in the hands of younger people like you. The future looks bright.
Congratulations, Emma, on your selection and your stepping forward in faith to claim your place in the councils of the church. I look forward to seeing you at General Convention! I’m Lelanda, also from Province VI, Diocese of Colorado.
